Semester Wrap Up

One of the first lessons I learned this year was the difference between pastoral care and counseling. The second is that one size does not fit all. As such, I always start each new encounter with a "how can I be of service to this unique situation" mindset. That, I learned a while ago from people's different reactions to me saying the exact same things. 

I often tell people that we can find gratitude even in the greatest tragedies. We can be grateful...and angry, hurt, destroyed, and suffering all at the same time. I know that I will continue to move forward, grow, and spiritually develop my ability to be that calming constant comforting presence in my clients lives when they need it most, and I know that this course and I'm sure the many others I will soon take will add to my spiritual toolkit. I'm very grateful for this.
